Our Perspective

The primary way we see our work at McLean Church Finance is that God has put us to work in His Kingdom. We consider it a huge honor to be used by God in this way. We are His servants, and our job is to execute the work that He puts before us to perform.

We recognize that many of the churches we serve place an enormous value on their stewardship of the finances that God has entrusted to them. We work to preserve the very high level of protection, trust, and importance that our churches feel toward their financial resources.

We enjoy our work. Accounting is straightforward, the math always works, and there is a sense of accomplishment in excellent work. “Do you see a person skilled in his work? He will serve before Kings; he will not serve before obscure men.” (Proverbs 22: 29)

We do not count our clients nor our people. In First Chronicles chapter 21, King David took a prideful census of his men, and that displeased God. We seek to see ourselves as servants of Christ, being faithful to the work He places before us.

We want our work to continue to grow. God is blessing us through our work and He is providing for our families. We seek to be diligent in our work and are encouraged where we read in Proverbs chapter 28 “He who works his land will have plenty of bread.” We strive forward with encouragement from Ecclesiastes, “whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.”

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide basic accounting services for Christ’s Church as a means of serving the Kingdom of God and thereby contributing to its advancement. As we fulfill this mission, we seek to:

• serve Christian ministries and non-profit organizations that “do good works.” (Ephesians 2-10)

• provide meaningful paying work for our employees - servants of God that he has entrusted to us for the work.

• contribute to the long-term success of our clients by providing a foundation of sound financial practices that will allow them to move forward and focus on ministry.

Our Process

We provide outsourced accounting work for your church or ministry. Typically, the churches for which we work will send us their offering information each week and we will post it in the books that we maintain for them. Each week we also post the individual donor contributions into donor contribution software. We work with a variety of different software products and are likely already familiar with the software that you use.

Additionally, we make the payments for all expenses and reimbursements from our location. For payroll, we can execute it in-house or run it through an outside payroll service if you prefer. In either case, we will insure that all tax deposits and filings are complete. At the end of each month, we provide a full set of financial reports for you to use as you steward your resources. Finally, we recommend a number of customized internal controls to protect each organization from both temptation and accusation.
